For Philanthropists

You've probably been approached with thousands of ways to give.

This isn't another one.

TreasurePoem.com is an invitation to consider a different question:

What if the experience of giving could be as memorable as the gift itself? Philanthropy doesn't always have to be a transaction. It can be an experience. It can be a surprise. It can be a mystery. It can even be fun. And it can remain completely private. You could start with something very simple. You could create an essay challenge of your own. Ask people something meaningful. For example: “If you could change one person's life with a gift, who would it be—and why?” Read the responses. Learn the stories. Choose someone who deserves help. And make the gift. You don't need TreasurePoem.com to do that. You can do it yourself. That's the point. But what if you wanted to make it an adventure? What if, instead of simply asking people to tell you something, you gave them something to discover? A poem. A puzzle. A series of clues. A mystery. A destination. A treasure. And at the end of the adventure, the treasure turns out to be a charitable gift. The people experience the adventure. The charity receives the benefit. And you get to enjoy the giving. The Forrest Fenn possibility This is where my own story becomes relevant. Forrest Fenn's famous treasure poem contains nine clues. I believe I know what those clues mean. I believe they lead to a particular special place in Wyoming. And I have publicly stated that I was the person who was in communication with Forrest Fenn on July 22, 2020. I understand that this is an extraordinary claim. I don't expect anyone to accept it simply because I say it. Instead, I invite serious, interested people to examine the solution itself. Nine clues. One destination. An extraordinary possibility for philanthropy. The treasure doesn't have to be the money. The treasure can be what the money makes possible. Imagine taking the excitement of the Forrest Fenn treasure hunt and giving it a different purpose. The mystery remains. The poem remains. The clues remain. The anticipation remains. But the ultimate treasure becomes something more meaningful: A gift that changes someone's life. And you don't have to be the face of it. No gala. No cameras. No speech. No public recognition. No oversized check. No requirement that anyone know who made it possible. The philanthropist can remain behind the curtain. The adventure can belong to everyone. The generosity can remain yours. This isn't a proposal for you to fund TreasurePoem.com. I'm not asking you for a donation. I'm not asking you to make me the administrator of your philanthropy. I'm not proposing that I run a contest for you. I'm simply suggesting an idea. If you ever wanted to create an unusual philanthropic experience, you could do so independently. And if the Forrest Fenn poem interests you, I can privately explain why I believe I know the solution to its nine clues. You can then decide for yourself whether it is something worth exploring. Maybe giving can be more than giving. Maybe it can be a story. Maybe it can be a mystery. Maybe it can be an adventure. And maybe, at the end of the adventure, someone discovers that the real treasure was generosity all along.
